Below is a list of the major figures who have influenced the Shoto Budo Organisation and the areas they have studied that may have influenced them.
William Haggerty - Profile
BSc Quality Management and Technology, HNC Information Technology and City and Guilds in Mechanical Engineering:
Billy has trained in Karate, Judo, Boxing, Aikido, Kendo, Bojitsu, Jujitsu, Tae Kwon Do, as well as little bit of Tichi, Kungfu, Yoga and other martial arts.
Billy also studied a variety of physiological disciplines including TA, NLP and DBM. Billy is a qualified Trainer in NLP and has trained as a Trainer of DBM. He uses these skills in a variety of ways but especially in the development of effective training models to increase the learning capacity and speed of his students in the martial arts arena.
Vincent Strachan - Profile
BSc History & Social Sciences, mechanical engineer, Musician and exporter.
Vincent trained throughout his life by playing football, running marathons for charity as well as extensive training for decades in Karate. Vince had a warm disposition and a keen interest in learning what he could from other martial artists and this led his to train in kung fu, aikido, before taking a special interest in Tae Kwon Do through a special personal friend Leroy Soutar who had been an established member of the English team for his art.

Hugh Russell - Profile
Optometrist with his own business.
Hugh has trained extensively in DBM, NLP, TA as well as Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do as well as decades of karate practice.
Graeme Muirhead - Profile
Graeme qualified as a Bio Energy therapist in December 1999 through the Bio - Energy Healing Association of Ireland & U.K, in Scotland. He now runs his own business in this field.
His main influences are Sensei Harada, Billy Haggerty, Vinnie Strachan, Colin Reeve and Billy Eyre (Ninjitsui)
Richard Price - Profile
First Class Honours Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in the fields of Arts and Design. A self employed artist.
Richard has trained in Nucleus Jeet Kun Do, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Tai Chi, Kempo, Wado Ryo, Karate and Tae Kwon Do. He has trained in Scotland, Finland, Cyprus and Spain.
Eddie Taggart - Profile
Works in the building industry.
Has trained in martial arts for 25 years, with heavy influence from boxing training.
Gordon Ballantyne - Profile
First Class Honours Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. A Chartered Electrical Engineer. Works in the Telecoms industry.
Has trained in the martial arts for 25 years, also trains with Ross Frame of Tei Karate and has trained in the past with Alex Mair who is an ex Royal Marine, teaching military style unarmed combat techniques at Cambusnethan Boxing club.

Pauline Walmsley - Profile
B.A.(Hons) in Psychology, currently undertaking an MSc in Health Psychology at Stirling University.
Trained in counselling skills (COSCA), As well as holding several coaching qualifications, Pauline also completed a dissertation study involving research into the visio-perceptual control skills of martial artists under the guidance of Professor J. Thomson at the University of Strathclyde.
Pauline is employed as a Health Promotion Officer with GGNHSB and continuing her study of behaviour science, in 2003 she sucessfully completed a NLP practitioner course with Sensory Systems Ltd.
Pauline origionally trained with KDS before the conception of Shoto Budo. In addition to training and coaching in aerobics, exercise to music and gym fit, she is also an experienced half marathon and 10K runner and a regular practitioner of Trancendental Meditation, Shiatsu and Reiki.
Dave McDicken - Profile
Dave has a B Eng (Hons) in Environmental Engineering and an MSc in Facilities Management. He is now a Company Director within a building fit out and refurbishment business.
Dave spend many years training with Vincent Strachan and exploring other styles, particularly Tae Kwon Do with Leroy Souter.
Gail McDicken - Profile
Gail is a hair stylist with her own business. Outside martial arts, she has an interest in running and has ran both the New York and Edinburgh marathons.

William Coyle: Senior Scottish Aikido Instructor
Billy Eyre: 4th Dan in Ninjitsu, under Master Hatsumi. Billy has now emigrated to Prince George in Canada.
Leroy Souter: Tae-kwando instructor and member of the English Tae Kwon Doteam.
Keith Sutherland :Tae-kwando instructor and member of the English Tae Kwon Do team
