Billy recounts " I was asked to develop the course around Kata application for self defence and as there were lower grades we worked with Heian Nidan. After giving application for punches, kicks and grabs as well as formal on the spot and free moving I was being informed that the body was willing but the brain was stuffed and we left the other information for an other time." 5th Dan Hugh Russell, Bearsden, and 1st Kyu, Graham Wardlaw from Dumbarton, also represented Scotland at this taxing, but very interesting, course.
