Billy Doing Meikyio
The technical director and senior grades have announced the introduction of a new Shoto Budo training manual/grading syllabus. As the organisation and its members continue to develop, so too does the need to continually assess and update the priorities for continued growth. As part of this continued development, a new range of Meijin grades have been introduced. These 5 levels of Meijin grades will be awarded by the grading panel to those senior members of the organisation who have continually demonstrated enhanced skills beyond the technical range of 5th Dan and whose personal expertise continues, over time, to impact on the growth and development of Shoto Budo. We are pleased to announce theSenior Grades first ever award of a Shoto Budo Meijin grade to Technical Director William Haggerty. The award of 4th Meijin was presented to Billy at spring school in recogntion of his efforts and achievement in the development of Shoto Budo. A demonstration of Meijin skill took place on the Sunday afternoon of Spring School with Billy defending against the senior grade group in front of all Shotobudo members present. Billy was also presented with the Vincent Strachan Memorial Award, further adding to such an historic occasion. More details of this course and demo can be found here
