Following the introduction of the Meijin grades last year, Shoto Budo are delighted to announce that awards have been made to 2 of their 5th Dans.
Richard Price and Eddie Taggart were both nominated by the technical director
and senior examiners and were awarded 1st Meijin at Autumn school.
Both of these talented martial artists put on a superb display,
which was enjoyed immensly by a terrific turnout from Shoto Budo members for
this event (including several of our Finnish friends).
Eddie showed fine form in kumite, with an incredibly fast use of techniques
against various opponents, finishing with a strong performance of Bassai Dai
kata.

Richard
displayed his creative talents with a varied performance, showing both absorbtion
and avoidance of attacks through movement, finishing with an array of defenses
and takedowns from a kneeling position Zazen
Well done both of you, two justified promotions!
