An exciting spread of new clubs and training opportunities is currently happening in Shoto Budo. Richard Price

Already this year the relocation of David and Gail McDicken to Broughty Ferry, near Dundee has seen a new club currently running at Grove Academy, Broughty Ferry on Friday nights 7pm to 9pm. In addition to this, an ad hoc training session on Sunday mornings at Forthill Sports Club, Broughty Ferry has also begun. (Times vary).

Dave and Gail are currently applying for a let at St Johns Academy, Dunsinane Ave, Dundee for Tuesday evenings 7pm to 9pm and the classes should start there immanently. Junior and adult classes will be catered for and long-term Shoto Budo members Ruth-Anne O'Neil and Alistair McColl are also in attendance. This club is now the furthest north in Scotland and of course makes Shoto Budo available to a much wider audience. All enquiries should go to gail.mcdicken@btinternet.com

Greenock is pretty far to the west so how have we spread even further? The answer is a greatly anticipated new development brought about by the relocation of Graeme Muirhead to Ireland. Graeme now aims to develop a new arm of Shoto Budo in Ireland and his first goal is to have a weekend course there by September… so get ready for a fun ferry trip too! All enquiries to grmmrhd@aol.com

And to the South? Another relocation, this time by Richard Price to Douglas Water near Lanark is about to see the southernmost Scottish club open in the rural area of Carmichael. The club will run on a Thursday evening between 5.30 and 9.30 pm with two children's and one adult class. He also has aspirations to move even further south. Currently studying British Sign Language, Richard also hopes in the not too distant future to introduce Shoto Budo to the deaf community offering the opportunity to experience our practise methods and health and well-being benefits to completely new audiences. All enquiries to rp100@fsmail.net

All of these developments are an indication that our organisation is on the brink of exciting new growth and development… watch this space!
